Editorial Reviews
Universal Music Group has gone back to the original master tapes to deliver fully uncompressed, high-resolution versions of many of your favorite albums on Blu-ray Pure Audio Disc. Mastered at 24bit/96kHz, Blu-Ray Pure Audio Discs deliver the sound the artists originally heard in the studio when these classic albums were recorded. Recordings are transferred from the original master tapes and delivered in high-resolution 24-bit/96kHz audio. No compression is utilized, and the sound quality is vastly superior to MP3 or standard CD. Features three separate choices of audio file format for playback: PCM 2.0, Dolby True HD, or DTS-HD Master Audio (5.1 available where noted). Your preferred audio format is chosen either by pressing the 'Audio' button on your Blu-Ray remote or via your onscreen menu display.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 23, 2025If you loved jazz, but dont have this album, please get it immediately. A very relaxing jazz album. Thinking of having coffee, put on this album. Superb 180g vinyl sound.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 18, 2023Next to the Analogue Productions 45 rpm LP release of this album, this is the best sound you can get, although the 'Verve Acoustics Sounds' series release on vinyl comes close at a more reasonable price (I personally own all of the previously mentioned issues, as well as original, 1964 releases in both mono and stereo). However, if your playback system is primarily digital in nature, the high-resolution, 24-bit/96 kHz audio on this disc, sourced from the original master tapes, will leave you humming 'The Girl From Ipanema' breathlessly for days, it is so remarkably presented. Keep in mind that this disc contains only the original stereo version (and no extra tracks, although stating so on the packaging, and not any phony, rechanneled surround sound version), but it sounds great!
[EDIT] Since I wrote the original review, the Impex 45 rpm remaster (by Bernie Grundman) of this album, as well as the SACD has been released. The Impex LP is now the 'king' of the best sound, in my opinion, though one will likely require a high resolution audio system to realize them. Not that the others mentioned aren't as I previously described, but the Impex is simply better, its cooperation with the Getz family aside. At $135, the Impex LP is likely only an option for anal audiophiles. The others I previously mentioned, however, are still worth owning, and at a reasonable price.
