　　love story in the context of the magical-religious beliefs of the Peruvian Amazon. Miguel is a sociologist from Lima who goes to work in Iquitos, there he meets the young Nexy, who lives in fear of the Yacuranas, mythological beings that threaten to take her to the depths of the river. Miguel tries to help her with ayahuasca, administered by the healer Melitón. The couple goes into the jungle following the treatment, but Nexy disappears. Miguel participates in indigenous ceremonies and gradually understands the rites and beliefs of that culture.
