Out of Time (Russian "With the Timing Out" or "Not in Time") - the seventh studio album of the US alternative rock band R.E.M., was released on Warner Bros. Records. Thanks to this record R.E.M. Grew from just a cult American band to a mainstream international collective. The album topped the charts on both sides of the Atlantic, having stayed 109 weeks in the American charts, two weeks on its top, and 183 weeks in the UK chart, one week heading it. The album was sold in the amount of four and a half million copies in the US and more than 18 million copies worldwide. He received three Grammy Awards in 1992: one in the nomination "Best Alternative Album" and two for the single "Losing My Religion".

The album combined elements of pop, folk and classical music - a combination of the band started on the previous work, with a slope towards the country. This musical concept was continued on the next album of the band - Automatic for the People.

For the first single, the song "Losing My Religion" was chosen, which became the band's biggest hit in the US, Out of Time was the band's first album to reach the top of the charts on both sides of the Atlantic. However, despite this success, the musicians did not organize a concert tour.

Out of Time became the best-selling album of the band in Germany, it sold over 125.0000 copies.

Out of Time was the first album of R.E.M., was published in a large edition on CDs (they also had a colorful booklet). In Spain, an art contest was held for the drawing on the cover of the album, the abstract oil painting became the winning work.
